This site is the result of over 40 years of research.
John M Casburn came to the United States from Cambridgeshire England (most likely the village of Burwell) at the age of 21. He set sail from Liverpool in 1836 aboard the Augusta and arrived in New York on August 25, 1836. John was a watchmaker by trade. By 1846 he had made his way to Jackson, Tennessee where he married Elizabeth W Cole.
This is where our family story begins.
The site has been completely updated and expanded as of June 29, 2017. I've added over 120 photos. If you would like to add any other photos just send me a jpg and I will be happy to include them.
