Elusive People
John Joshua Barron
John Joshua Barron (Jan 18, 1903 - 19??):Disappeared Aug. 1926?
John Joshua Barron is my great-uncle (Agnes Slay's Brother) and is part of the Slay family genealogy on this website. It is beleived that he disappeared
from his home in Childress, Texas one week after the birth of his son John J. Barron Jr. in August of 1946. There are family rumors that he lived in Califonia during the 1930's.
It is also rumored that he lived in Brownville, Texas in the 1950's and that he died in Matamoras, Mexico after being gored by a bull in approx. 1957. Any information about John
would be greatly appreciated.
John M. Casburn (~1816-18??): Looking for US records and his family in England?
John M. Casburn is my great-great-grandfather and is part of the Casburn family genealogy on this web site. John arrived in the US on the
ship Augusta at the port of New York on Aug. 25 1836. Following his arrival, nothing is known about his where-abouts until he shows up on 1846 marriage records
in Riply Tn. He appears again in Ripley on the 1850 census where he is listed as a watchmaker. We know that his last child was born in 1854
but we have no additional information on John. We also know that a Robert Casburn arrived in the US through the port of New Orleans on
Mar. 4 1849. Robert also shows up on the 1850 census in Durhamville Tn. where he is listed as a tailor. We're guessing that Robert and John
might be related, possible brothers? Does anyone have additional information on John or Robert? Using DNA we have verified a link between
our Casburn line and the Casburns in Burwell England but we can find no records listing John or Robert. Can anyone help with information
on our English ancestors?
